Spring Meeting - May 23, 2024

Call for Papers Deadline is April 1

Who We Are

We’re the people that design, construct, and maintain the infrastructure necessary to keep the taps running, toilets flushing, and stormwater runoff pollutant free. Our members help keep Vermont's surface and ground waters clean, safe, and beautiful to serve our water use needs, recreation, and precious ecosystems.

Founded in 1994, GMWEA is a nonprofit membership organization that supports Vermont's drinking water, wastewater, and storm water sector -- serving water quality professionals, preserving the environment, and protecting public health through technical trainings, public education, and policy advisories.  New individual and corporate members always welcome!

We present conferences, technical trainings, trade shows, publications, online forums, school programs, industry social activities, and public awareness programs that:

Provide continuing education opportunities for water, wastewater, and stormwater facility operators to improve their knowledge and skills.

  • Encourage peer networking for water quality professionals through events that promote the exchange of knowledge related to the design, operation, and management of water quality systems.
  • Promote public knowledge of the essential role of water, wastewater, and stormwater management in protecting public health and preserving the natural environment.
  • Advocate for best-practice water quality management policy by drawing on on the expertise of 400 individual and 50 business/organizational members to provide advisories to policy makers and regulatory agencies.

GMWEA serves as the voice and the face of the water quality sector in Vermont. Explore this site to learn about member services, publications, upcoming events, and policy advisories.
