Continuing Education
This committee provides ongoing education and training for the membership, which is one of GMWEA’s core functions as an organization. The role of the committee is to plan, coordinate, and oversee training and related events, including arranging technical sessions for the spring and fall meetings.

Government Affairs
This committee oversees the association’s interactions with regulatory and legislative individuals and entities that have an impact on water quality and the drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater industry. The committee is large, providing a wide range of technical, scientific, and policy-related advisement to GMWEA from the broader community of municipal water quality facility operators, water scientists, and representatives from New England regional water quality organizations.

Membership
This committee is responsible for maintaining communications with and providing services to GMWEA’s members. Its goals are to develop a sense of fraternity; foster coherence as a community to advocate for policies affecting the water quality professions; and increase the number of members throughout the state.

Public Relations
This committee oversees GMWEA’s communications and community-interface activities, with two primary objectives:
• Activities that promote recognition of and participation in GMWEA and its activities (including membership recruitment).
• Activities that increase the public and policymakers’ awareness of the importance of water quality management as well as the policy and funding decisions that affect water quality management effectiveness.
